Deleting custom tools

Delete any custom tool that you no longer require. Deleting a custom tool removes it from all instances where it is used, and you can no longer use it anywhere.

When you delete a custom tool, the tool unwraps into a top-level group containing all the tools from the custom tool set. The grouped tools still appear in your pipe, but not as a custom tool. The group will take on the name of the custom tool. For example, if you delete a custom tool named My custom tool, the name of the grouped tool set becomes My custom tool.

  1. In the Pipe builder, click your custom tool.

  2. On the toolbar, click Open tool OpenToolReusableLogic.png icon.

  3. Delete the usage of the custom tool. From the breadcrumb menu, click the Delete tool DeleteReusableLogic.png icon.

The custom tool automatically unwraps during the delete process. If you're inside a custom tool that has been previously deleted, a notification appears to inform you that the custom tool was deleted and is now replaced with the group of custom tools on your pipe.

A confirmation dialogue appears asking whether you want to delete. The dialogue also shows the affected instances where the custom tool is used. Once you delete the custom tool, you can no longer use the tool anywhere.

Unwrap tools

If you are in a pipe that uses a deleted tool, you will see a notification that the tool was deleted. If the custom tool was removed, and all of the tools that were within that custom tool are now on your canvas, grouped.

Any variables in the custom tool are replaced with their corresponding values. Some tools may be invalid, if they were published invalid.
