Workday import

Abstract

Connect your Symon.AI and Workday accounts to import your data.

Connect your Symon.AI and Workday accounts to import your data.

Before you begin

Before you can create a connection between Symon.AI to import data from Workday, you will need a Workday account.

Workday domain name

During the import process, you will have to enter your Workday domain name. To find your domain name, follow these steps:

  1. Sign into your Workday account.

  2. Search for Public Web Services.

  3. Select Public Web Services to view a list of all services.

  4. Select the menu (...) for one of the web services. For example, Absence Management (Public).

  5. Select Web Service > View WSDL.

  6. Scroll to the end of the page to find the WSDL URL, with the following format: https://domain.workday.com/ccx/service/tenant_name/service_name/version

For example the URL could be https://wd2-impl-services1.workday.com/ccx/service/my_company/Absence_Management/v37.0, making the domain name wd2-impl-services1.

  7. Copy the domain name to use when configuring the Workday import connector.

Usage examples

After creating the connection, you will be presented with the first 500 columns from your Workday Worker table. Column name prefixes that show are abbreviated. For example, in the column name PD.ND.LND.NDD.Formatted_Name, prefix PD.ND.LND.NDD is a short form of Personal_Data.Name_Data.Legal_Name_Data.Name_Detail_Data.

Note

The last part representing the actual column name (Formatted_Name) stays in full format.

You can search for and select the specific columns that you want to analyze, complete the configuration steps, and start the import. Shortly after, your data is available in Symon.AI , where you can view it and start analyzing it in a pipe.

Security and privacy

We use standard username and password authentication practices to connect with Workday, and securely store encrypt passwords.
