Using the Audit log
The audit log is a place where users can go to view their pipe activity.
The audit log is a place where you can go to view your pipe activity. You can also review the activity with your connectors, such as any creations, updates and deletions of the connections.
The audit log gives you the ability to do the following actions:
Filter events by date.
Note
The date displays the last week of events by default.
Filter the data by filter values and filter the Value filter.
Filter the data with the Pipe ID.
Reset any of the filters.
In Varicent ELT, click your user name.
Click Organization settings.
Click Audit log.
Review the data. If desired, apply filters to refine the data.
Tip
You can apply filters to one or more columns. Filter the date, category, event, pipe ID or user.
Audit log columns
The following table describes the fields in the Audit log:
Field | Description |
---|---|
Date | The date selected to filter the data in the audit log. Choose from All, Today, Yesterday, Past week, Past month or Any range. |
Category | The category of the activity, such as chart, build, tools or run. Filter one or more of the activity types. |
Event | The status of the item, such as created, updated or deleted. Filter one or more of the event types. |
Pipe ID | The Pipe ID associated with each event. Filter by the ID. |
Description | The description of the activity, such as "Build has begun for pipe Forecasting". |
User | The email address, system, internal or scheduler that initiated the activity. Filter by one or more users. |
Filter Audit log data
Filter the audit log data to search for the data you want quickly. For example, if you want to search who created a certain pipe, apply the Pipe filter to the Category column, and then apply the Created filter to the Event column. Then, the audit log will show a list of created pipes with the users who created them.
Sign into Varicent ELT.
Click on your username.
Click on Organization settings, and click on the Audit log tab.
Click the Filter icon
on the category that you want to filter.
In the Filter <column> window, either enter the search values in the Is equal to field, or select the option you want to filter by. Click Apply.
Note
To delete the selection, click Clear.
