Abstract

Join US population data on county or state to your data.

Join US population data on county or state to your data.

When to use this tool

Use when you want to add population information to your data set.

Configuration

Use the following configuration options to help configure the US population tool.

Configuring the US population tool

  1. In Varicent ELT, go to the Pipes module.

  2. On the Pipes tab, find the pipe you want to work with. Click the pipe to open.

  3. In your Pipe builder add your data source.

  4. On the canvas toolbar, click symon_add_icon.png + Tool.

  5. In the Tools modal search bar, type US population.

    Tip

    You can also find the US population tool in the Data section.

  6. Click + Add Tool.

  7. Connect the tool to your data set.

  8. In the configuration pane, enter the following information:

    Field

    Description

    Year

    Select the year to use for populating your data set.

    Age group

    Select the age group for your data set. Choose from Select all, none or a variety of ages.

    Gender

    Select the gender to use for populating your data set:

    • Select all

    • Select none

    • Male

    • Female

    • Total

    State/Province column

    Select the column to use for the State/Province.

    County

    Select the column to use for the county.
