Abstract

Use Incentives as a data source to import or export data for Varicent ELT.

Integrate with Incentives using your Varicent ELT API keys. Do this step before you configure Incentives as a connector.

Before you add and configure Incentives as a connector in Varicent ELT , you must integrate the connection with your Varicent ELT API keys first.

Set up the connection between Varicent ELT and Incentives as a source to import or export data.

In Varicent ELT, you can add Incentives as a connector for imports and exports. You can use this connection to import data from Incentives objects like tables, calculations, and data stores. You can also export your Varicent ELT results to a new table in Incentives or update an existing one.

Note

Ensure all data is within a date range between 1677-09-21 00:12:43.145224193 and 2262-04-11 23:47:16.854775807. Varicent ELT doesn't support dates outside of the date range. If the dates are outside of the date range, you could see the following behaviour:

  • The date range will show the wrong dates if you don't drop or obfuscate columns.

  • The date range will show blank dates if you drop or obfuscate columns.

  1. From the Data tab, click Import data.

  2. Select Incentives as a third party source.

  3. Click + New connection.

  4. Enter your API key.

    Tip

To get your API key, go to your Varicent ELT username, click User options, and then click Generate API key or Rotate API key.

  5. Enter your model name.

Before you set up the data source connection between Varicent ELT and Incentives, ensure that you know what type of permissions you have. The type of permissions you have will guide how you set up the connection.

Creating a successful connection relies on the type of permissions that a user has in Varicent Incentives.

Users with specific Data Stores and Data Tables permissions:

If you are a user with permissions only to specific Data Stores or Data Tables, choose Data Stores or Data Tables in the Directory drop-down during the connector configuration. All Data Stores and Data Tables available to you will appear.

Users with Calculation and View permissions:

If you are a user with Calculate and View permissions, and choose Calculations in the Directory drop-down menu during the connector configuration. All calculations available to you for the assigned Data Stores or Data Tables will appear.

Users without permissions:

If you are a user without permissions in Varicent Incentives, you will not be able to set up the connection between Varicent ELT and Varicent Incentives.
